NEM power stations

Every dispatching unit in AEMO’s registration list that we can place, grouped into the station it belongs to. Marker colour is the station’s largest fuel by registered capacity — the same palette as the fuel-mix chart; marker area scales with registered capacity, so a 2 GW station covers a hundred times the area of a 20 MW one rather than a hundred times the width. Click a pin for the station’s details. Drag to pan; zoom with the + / − buttons, the scroll wheel, or a double-click, and pick a region above to jump straight to it. Grey jurisdictions (WA, NT) are separate grids and structurally outside the NEM.

A NEM region is electrical, not geographic. Snowy’s Murray Power Station sits in New South Wales but dispatches into VIC1, so filtering to Victoria pins it where it physically stands — on the wrong side of the border. Pins are the station’s real coordinates; regions are AEMO’s. Coastlines are drawn at 1:50 million, so a station on a headland or a border can sit a whisker outside the outline.
